Escrita por Stephen Sondheim, con música de Leonard Bernstein, en 1957, para el musical West Side Story, recoge el anhelo mas propio de la persona, de los deseos más humanos, mas sencillos, y tantas veces tan alejados. Un himno dentro del musical.

Mil veces versionada, traigo quizas la menos melodica, mas desgarrada de Tom Waits.
