Sin orden ni concierto

  Primer movimiento de concerto grosso  para orquesta de cuerdas Palladio  del compositor galés Karl Jenkins, escrita en 1995.  Rinde homenaje al arquitecto renacentista italiano Andrea Palladio. 

  Primero de los siete movimientos de la suite orquestal Los Planetas, Op. 32, del compositor inglés Gustav Holst, escrita en 1917. Es un tema inquietante y dramático considerado inspiración directa de  para el tema The Imperial March de Star Wars de John Williams.

  Canción escrita por George Gershwin e Ira Gershwin para el musical Girl Crazy de 1930, donde fue estrenada por Ginger Rogers en su debut en Broadway. Traigo la versión instrumental de la película de Woody Allen, Manhattan.   Love theme de la banda Sonora de "Airport" de 1970 dirigida por George Seaton y compuesta por  Alfred Newman.  La banda sonora recibió una nominación al Oscar. Otra versión orquestal muy difundida es la de  Jackie Gleason

  Segundo movimiento, Largo del Concierto para Oboe en Re menor, RV 454, de Antonio Vivaldi,  publicado en 1725 como parte de la colección de doce conciertos Il cimento dell'armonía e dell'inventione Op. 8, la misma que incluye Las cuatro estaciones. Este concierto es una transcripción del concierto para violín RV 236 Op. 8, No. 9.

  Bye Bye Blackbird es una canción de 1926 escrita por el compositor Ray Henderson y el letrista Mort Dixon. Aqui en la versión de Melody Gardot de 2010. Muy versionada, recuerda a la balada de   Peggy Lee , o Miles Davis , frente a la más bailable de Liza Minnelli

  Around the World es el tema principal de la película de 1956 La vuelta al mundo en 80 días de  Michael Anderson.    Posteriormente se grabó la canción escrita por Harold Adamson y Victor Young. Aquí en la versión de Nat King Cole.

  Till the Lights of London Shine Again" es una canción de 1940. sobre la esperanza y el reencuentro tras la guerra, en la ciudad de Londres. Aqui en la versión de Joe Loss.

  El Cantique de Jean Racine, Op. 11 es una motete sacro del compositor francés Gabriel Fauré. Compuesta  en 1865 para coro mixto  a cuatro voces (Soprano, Contralto, Tenor y Bajo)  y órgano o piano. Destaca por su melodía elegante y serena. Fauré escribió esta obra con solo 19 años , basado en una paráfrasis del dramaturgo Jean Racine (1639–1699) sobre un himno latino del breviario romano "Consors paterni luminis".
