Jeep's blues

Imagen

Letra It was such a fine spring day Down Lou'siana way, With fragrance divine And such magnificent regalia. Oh, so fine, Azalea. Oh what a lovely sight, In red, pink and white. Can't held but believe That nothing evil can assail you. So naïve, Azalea You're at ease on the knees Of the moss covered trees, Whose tops meet to make a high ceiling In the church-like pomp Of the cypress swamp. I've yet to get that same strange feeling. I've got to go back there And find that blossom fair I always dream of. 'Cause with you who could be a failure? My first love, Azalea

Distractions

Imagen
Canción de Paul McCartney de 1989. Letra What is this thing in life that persuades me to spend Time away from you? If you can answer this you can have the moon. This is the place to be, anyway you can see There's a lovely view. Why are there always so many other things to do? Distractions, like butterflies are buzzing 'round my head, When I'm alone I think of you And the life we'd lead if we could only be free From these distractions. The postman's at the door While the telephone rings on the kitchen wall, Pretend we're not at home and they'll disappear. I want to be with you, tell me what I can do, Nothing is too small Away from all this jazz we could do anything at all. Distractions, like butterflies are buzzing 'round my head. When I'm alone I think of you And the things we'd do if we could only be through With these distractions. I'll fond the peaceful place far a way from the noise of a busy Day Where we can spend our nights counting s

Diamonds and rust

Imagen
Extraordinaria canción de  Joan Báez, del año 1975. Letras Well, I'll be damned Here comes your ghost again But that's not unusual It's just that the moon is full And you happened to call And here I sit Hand on the telephone Hearing a voice I'd known A couple of light years ago Heading straight for a fall As I remember your eyes Were bluer than robin's eggs My poetry was lousy you said Where are you calling from? A booth in the midwest Ten years ago I bought you some cufflinks You brought me something We both know what memories can bring They bring diamonds and rust Well, you burst on the scene Already a legend The unwashed phenomenon The original vagabond You strayed into my arms And there you stayed Temporarily lost at sea The Madonna was yours for free Yes, the girl on the half-shell Could keep you unharmed Now I see you standing With brown leaves falling all around And snow in your hair Now you're smiling out the window Of that crummy hotel Over Washington

Les choses de la vie

Imagen

Diamonds are forever

Imagen

I've grown accustomed to her face

Imagen

Letra When I was a young man courting the girls I played me a waiting game If a maid refused me with tossing curls I'd let the old Earth take a couple of whirls And as time came around, she came my way As time came around, she came Oh, it's a long, long time from May to December But the days grow short when you reach September When the autumn weather turns the leaves to flame One hasn't got time for the waiting game Oh, the days dwindle d

Cinema Paradiso

Imagen

Letra There's a place for us Somewhere a place for us Peace and quiet and open air Wait for us somewhere There's a time for us Someday a time for us Time together and time to spare Time to look, time to care Someday Somewhere We'll find a new way of living We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere There's a place for us Somewhere a place for us Time together with time to spare Time to look, time to care Someday Somewhere We'll find a new way of living We'll find a way of forgiving Somewhere Hold my hand and I'll take you there Somehow Someday Somewhe

Largo del concierto No. 5 BWV 1056 de JS Bach

Imagen

The man I love

Imagen
Canción  de George e Ira Gershwin de 1924 para las comedias musicales  Strike Up the Band  y Lady, Be Good  Traigo la versión al piano de Leon Fleisher, pero merece conocer la de Billie Holiday    o la mas moderna de Kate Bush Letra Someday he'll come along The man I love And he'll be big and strong The man I love And when he comes my way I'll do my best to make him stay He'll look at me and smile I'll understand And in a little while He'll take my hand And though it seems absurd I know we both won't say a word Maybe I shall meet him Sunday, maybe Monday, maybe not Still, I'm sure to meet him one day Maybe Tuesday will be my good news day He'll build a little home Just meant for two From which I'll never roam Who would, would you? And so all else above I'm waiting for the man I love He'll build a little home Just meant for two From which I'll never roam Who would, would you? And so all else above I'm waiting for the man I love

Love with the proper stranger

Imagen
Letra I could fall in love with the proper stranger If I heard the bells and the banjos ring If two certain eyes with the look of danger Smiled a welcome warm as spring If the beating in my heart Sounded out a warning Don't let her Don't let her walk through the door This is the one you've been waiting for Oh, yes, I'd know However wild it seems You know I'd know And I'd whisper Come take my hand, proper stranger Don't go through life as a stranger For I'm a poor proper stranger, too Don't let her Don't let her walk through the door This is the one you've been waiting for Oh, yes, I'd know However wild it seems You know I'd know And I'd whisper Come take my hand, proper stranger Don't go through life as a stranger For I'm a poor proper stranger, too

One day I'll fly away

Imagen
Letra I'll make it alone When love is gone Still you made your mark Here in my heart One day I'll fly away Leave your love to yesterday What more can your love do for me? When will love be through with me? I follow the night Can't stand the light When will I begin My life again? One day I'll fly away Leave your love to yesterday What more can your love do for me? When will love be through with me? Why live life from dream to dream? And dread the day that dreaming ends? One day I'll fly away Leave your love to yesterday What more can you

Letra Oh, it's a mystery to me We have a greed, with which we have agreed And you think you have to want more than you need Until you have it all you won't be free Society, you're a crazy breed I hope you're not lonely without me When you want more than you have You think you need And when you think more than you want Your thoughts begin to bleed I think I need to find a bigger place 'Cause when you have more than you think You need more space Society, you're a crazy breed I hope you're not lonely without me Society, crazy indeed I hope you're not lonely without me There's those thinking, more or less, less is more But if less is more, how you keeping score? Means for every point

Another saturday night

Imagen
Diez años después Cat Stevens repitió éxito con su excelente versión Letra Another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody I got some money 'cause i just got paid How I wish I had someone to talk to I'm in an awful way I got in town a month ago, I seen a lotta girls since then If I could meet 'em I could get 'em but as yet I haven't met 'em That's why I'm in the shape I'm in Here another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody I got some money 'cause I just got paid How I wish I had someone to talk to I'm in an awful way Another fella told me he had a sister who looked just fine Instead of being my deliverance, she had a strange resemblance To a cat named Frankenstein Here's another Saturday night and I ain't got nobody I got some money 'cause I just got paid How I wish I had some chick to talk to I'm in an awful way Here it is another weekend and I a

If I Had You

Imagen
Canción de James Campbell, Reginald Connelly, y  Ted Shapiro de   1928, en la versión de Etta Jones. Letra: I could show the world how to smile I could be glad all of the while I could change the gray skies to blue If I had you I could leave the old days behind Leave all my pals, I'd never mind I could start my life anew If I had you I could climb a snow-capped mountain Sail the mighty ocean wide I could cross the burning desert If I had you by my side I could be a king, dear, uncrowned Humble or poor, rich or renowned There is nothin' I couldn't do If I had you I could climb a snow-capped mountain Sail the mighty ocean wide I could cross the burnin' desert If I had you by my side I could be a king uncrowned Humble or poor, rich or renowned There is nothin' I couldn't do If I had you

Don't Explain

Imagen

If I should lose you

Imagen
Canción compuesta por  Ralph Rainger, en 1936  para la pelicula Rose of the Rancho. En la versión de Nina Simone. Letra: If I should lose you, the stars would fall from the skies If I should lose you, the leaves would wither and die The birds in May time would sing a lonely refrain And I would wander around hating the sound of rain With you beside me, no wind in winter would blow With you beside me, a rose would bloom in the snow I gave you my love but I was living a dream And living would seem in vain if I lost you

You don't know what love is

Imagen
Letra You don't know what love is Until you've learned the meaning of the blues Until you've loved a love you've had to lose You don't know what love is You don't know how lips hurt Until you've kissed and had to pay the cost Until you've flipped your heart and you have lost You don't know what love is Do you know how a lost heart feels The thought of reminiscing And how lips that taste of tears Lose their taste for kissing You don't know how hearts burn For love that can not live yet never dies Until you've faced each dawn with sleepless eyes You don't know what love is You don't know how hearts burn For love that can not live yet never dies Until you've faced each dawn with sleepless eyes You don't know what love is.....what lov

Ces petits riens

Imagen

Not while I'm around

Imagen
There's nothing I wouldn't do for you If there was a monster Or an ogre Or anything bad like what was after you... I'd rip it apart With my bare fists I would What a sweet child it is! Or even if it was just a man... A man, dear? A man, what was bad What might be luring you all unbeknownst into his evil deeds, like? What is this, what are you talking about? Nothing's gonna harm you Not while I'm around Nothing's gonna harm you No sir, not while I'm around Demons are prowling everywhere Nowadays I'm sure they are, dear I'll send 'em howling I don't care I've got ways Of course you do, what a sweet, affectionate child it is No one's gonna hurt you No one's gonna dare Others can desert you Not to worry, whistle, I'll be ther
